You are not trying to "solve" their problems—you are helping them feel stable and secure so they can begin healing.

Ask yourself:
- Is the place around them safe?
- Are they at risk of further harm (fire, violence, falling objects)?
- Do they need to move to a safer location?
What to do:
- Gently guide them away from danger
- Offer water, food, a warm cloth or shade
